I’m a young 30-something vegan punk-rocker, part-academic, psudo-athlete & avid runner, yogini wanna-be, & neophite chef. I live in France with Monsieur Fish, my husband, and Guppy, our young daughter. I am planning on running my first marathon in April of 2009. (I broke my foot & tore some ligaments in a bicycle accident in early November, so April might not happen, but there will be other marathons in 2009!).

In the past year I have developed an obsession with all that is fabric related, though I was never into art, sewing or crafts as a child. I am a former classically-trained dancer, and dabbled quite a bit in writing (fiction, free-lance and editing) and music, so I feel like this new thrist for creation is a natural extension of my creative side.

I’m still very much a novice seamstress, and I’m itching to learn to knit and crochet like mad (anyone in the Paris area who would like to teach me?). I’m also very interested in print making, though I still haven’t taken the plunge.

My most secret (well, not from you) desire is to learn to paint. I’ve been just dreaming about it for almost a year, but I don’t really know where to begin and I find it a bit cost-prohibitive. For now.

Have a burning question or want to tell me how cool you think my blog is? (Ha!) Drop me a line at fishbowlmusings (at) gmail (dot) com.

Hi Shelly, I’ve seen you around in the blogsphere and I like your style. :-)

I’m so impressed to find a vegan in France. Well, I guess I’m also an uncommon vegetarian expat in the world’s steak capital. Funny thing is that it doesn’t both Argentines as much as it does Americans.

    Take care et au revoir~

    Hello Shellyfish
You have won my 200th post giveaway and I cannot seem to find an email contact. Can you please reply to this so that we can discuss your mailing details. You can delete this comment if you need to. I just needed to get in contact and it seemed the best option. Cheers. Have a great day

Hi! Hilda from Saffron & Blueberry sent me your way. I have a food blog http://lifesafeast.blogspot.com and she saw that I have been looking for decadent chocolate desserts for a friend who is both allergic to wheat (no flour) and dairy (no butter, cream or milk). Any ideas? I have a couple but could use more.
By the way, I am an American (former milliner) married to a French guy living in Nantes. Yay!

Thanks for your visits, Shellyfish! Like Erin, I am so glad I discovered your blog and added it right away to my Netvibes. I would love to post a WIP but would prefer not to post craft pictures in my foodblogs. Any other way to participate ?
