Though I haven’t stopped planning our week’s meals, it’s been forever since I’ve actually published a Meal Plan Monday, n’est-ce pas? This is a week of trying some new recipes and relying on old favourites.
Monday : Carrot, Sweet Potato & Coconut casserole. (I’ll be sharing the recipe for this family-favourite later in the week.)
Carrot, Sweet Potato & Coconut Casserole
Tuesday : Polenta with Wild Mushroom Ragu and Sun-Dried Tomato Biscotti.
Wednesday : Seitan Buffalo Wings and coleslaw.
Thursday : Left-overs
Friday : pizza night
Has anyone guessed which new cookbook I have? I need to make a few recipes before I can properly share what I think about it, but I’ve got a good feeling so far.
Also, there’s a holiday sale over at the Thora Thinks store (where you can purchase a copy of the great children’s book I reviewed last week, Garlic-Onion-Beet-Spinach-Mango-Carrot-Grapefruit Juice). There’s also a free winter-themed colouring page up for grabs as well.
Will you be trying any new recipes this week?
just want to say that you have a very nice website. was just surfing around and found your site. cool stuff and nice post. bookmarked and will come back later
I tried a new recipe today: creamy asparagus over toast from 30-minute vegan. So easy and good and PERFECT for the frigid weather we’re having!
Coconut casserole?! I’m deliciously intrigued! Also, I would love to come eat at your place, ok?
I love the pic so much! it’s fresh and delightful and hunger-inducing. perfection.
Awe, thank you ma puce!
I am impressed at how well thought out your meals are. I usually pick a few recipes for the week; sometimes I make them and sometimes I don’t. I just wing it half the time. Wednesday’s meal sounds yummy, I can’t wait to hear how it turns out.
your meal plan sounds scrumtrulescent, Shelly. i am not too sure what new cookbook you have (i just bought Appetite for Reduction, but have yet to have a chance to thumb through it. shameful, i know….) but i can’t wait for your review and for the casserole recipe – it sounds soooo super gooood!
Thanks, Jessy! I wish I had “Appetite For Reduction”, but it’s not available in France until January
If you want the book, have you checked the Book Depository or Play.com? They offer free shipping to all of Europe, and I have been very happy with both stores (the Book Depository ships to virtually every country in the world except for Denmark these days – what’s up with that?!). This is where I get most of my books (and Amazon, of course – but they do add postage..).
Your meals for each day sound really good, but I’d specially like to join you for dinner on Tuesday.
I wish I was organized enough to plan out my weekly meals, too – most of the time, I decide on the last minute.
The book depository is my favourite seller for English-language cookbooks – hands down. I just need a little more of a budget right now…
The weeks meals all sound wonderful, but the polenta is the one I’m most attracted to. There was a time when I planned out all our meals, and it was comforting to know what to shop for and what to cook each night. Now every meal is a surprise, and I can’t seem to plan it out any more. Perhaps I’ll try to come up with a plan for next week.
I don’t tend to plan much in the summer since it’s whatever is ripe or looks good. I need more structure in the cooler months, though, since sometimes I just don’t know what to make!
Yumm! We just made a polenta and wild mushroom ragu last night. I used oyster and porcini mushrooms.
Seriously? Great gourmets eat alike I would say…
I’m very excited about that recipe
Hoping to get it up later today!
I’ll be over on Wednesday. Those are two of my favorite things!
Your sundried biscotti is intriguing.
I’m very excited about Wednesday, I must admit. Come on over!
